What to use for my boy?

Postby TryingHardMom » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:34 pm

Hi, what must I purchase in terms of Spalding materials for my 3 year old boy who can already read all Dolch sight words and has finished all Bob books(he is currently reading the set for Sight Words 1st Grade). He can also spell a lot of words(by keyboard) like "here", "fly", "girl", "also", "thing", "baby", " that", "do" etc but needs some minimal cues once in a while. I would want to improve on his reading endurance, speed and fluency and build up a strong foundation based on the skills he already has. Thanks :P

You have a very smart young son! I recommend getting the Kindergarten Kit that includes the text, The Writing Road to Reading, Teacher's Guide with 32 weeks of lesson objectives aligned to common core standards, phonogram cards, comprehension booklets, and much more. You may need to adjust the pacing and go with his attention level. Spalding also has Series 1 readers (set of 20 of all types of writing) at Kindergarten level and Series 2 readers (24 in the set) at first grade level. You can view these products on the Spalding website.
