Using older edition?

Postby thowell » Wed Aug 11, 2010 7:29 pm

I am in need of a great spelling program for my step daughter who is several levels behind. This will be her first full year homeschooling with us. She is 11 in the 5th grade but her spelling is around a mid 2nd grade. I have been given a free copy of a 1990 Spalding and I am wondering if I could use this. Is there any reason why I would need to purchase a new edition? Our budget is pretty much spent so if this will work it will be wonderful!

You have a good question. Spalding's 5th Revised Edition of The Writing Road to Reading has more dialogues and helps than your 1990 edition. You can still use the older edition if you wish. Spalding has Teacher Guides with 32 weeks of spelling, writing, and reading lesson plans for kindergarten-6th grade. You can view these Guides on the Spalding website by clicking on store.
