A Parent's Introduction to the Spalding Method

I am new to the Spalding Method and will begin homeschooling my kindergartener this fall. I have read WRTR through several times, and have purchased the Kindergarten Teacher's Guide and all the necessary support materials. I also purchased the Spelling and Intermediate Instructional video. I am slowly gaining confidence about beginning this line of instruction and feel confident that my daughter will do well with it but wish that a more in depth instructional video was available. The course titled "A Parent's Introduction to the Spalding Method" looked promising but I understand it is not available at this time. Does anyone know if this course has ever been taped as a video series? If so, how much? And if not, where I might suggest it? Thank you for your time and I look forward posting many questions here in the future.

Your comments are very timely. Spalding has just finished a new course for home schooling parents called Spalding for Home Educators. It is specifically designed to help you use the grade level Teacher Guide and learn how to use the Spalding materials that are mentioned in the Guide.

Presently, we are offering a course in the Phoenix area at our office the week of July 7-11 from 8:30-noon each day. If you are in this area and would like to attend, space is still available. If you are not in this area and you know other home educators in your area that are using Spalding or want to use the program, we would love to organize a course near you. You can contact our office through the forum.

At this time, we do not have a video-taped series of our courses, but it is certainly one of our goals for the very near future. Continue to watch our website for an announcement of its availability.

I began homeschooling my Kindergartner this year using the Spalding WRTR. This is all very new to me and quite intimidating to be honest. An instructional video of the course "Spalding for Home Educators" would be an amazing tool to have for those of us starting out. Is this available yet and if not do you know if or when it will be?

Has a video been created yet?

Although I am currently doing a Bachelor Degree in Education even as a homeschooling mum and I would like to actually do the teacher accredited spalding course. I am in Australia and in the Western State, it seems there are only offers of local courses in the Eastern States, something I will have difficulty getting too. So is there or will there be a video course of the Teachers Course? If not then, the Parent one?
